MAM Kicks off 2019 National Manufacturing Day
by Recognizing Manufacturing Leaders
The 5th Annual Made in Missouri Leadership Awards (MMLAs) presented by The Boeing Company pre-event was held the morning of Tuesday September 24, 2019 at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in Independence, Missouri. This event was part of two (2) events leading up to the 16th Annual Missouri Manufacturing Summit.
Hosted by MAM in recognition of and in coordination with National Manufacturing Day, the MMLAs were developed to honor manufacturing companies and individual leaders that are shaping the future of the industry. Each year, innovative companies and individuals in the manufacturing industry from across the state submit their application in categories including:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Leadership & Strategy
- Workforce Development
- Promoting, Preserving & Advancing (MAM Awards)
After the application period has closed, a select panel of judges review the applications and select the recipients based on the judging criteria. Sixteen (16) categories were awarded out this year to the following:

Mark Fairbairn, 777X Program Integration Office Leaders with Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), carried the excitement for this year’s event as Keynote presenter. The audience was enthralled as Fairbairn shared a behind the scenes look on not only Boeing’s 777X, which is being hailed as the first of its kind in commercial aviation history, but also the people behind the program.
